A tooth abscess is an infection of the tooth.
Reasons for tooth abscess

Any of the above reasons can allow the bacteria to enter the tooth pulp and lead to necrosis of the tooth pulp. Infected pulp builds up pus which accumulates at the bottom of the tooth lifting the tooth. It feels as if the infected tooth is the only tooth touching the bite.
