Healthy Smiles Accepts Dual Dental Insurance Coverage
Healthy Smiles accepts Aetna, Anthem, CIgna, Connecticare, Metlife, Guardian, United Healthcare, Husky – Medicaid, Medicare and many other insurances. We coordinate benefits with both insurances to maximize your benefits.
The benefits from dual dental insurance coverage doesn’t cover twice the same procedure. Instead the procedure will be covered by one insurance and the remaining may be covered by the other insurance. Deductible from both insurances will be due at the time of the procedure.
Do I pay more with dual dental insurance coverage than having one insurance?
No, in almost all cases after coordinating the benefits, you will end up getting the coverage which is best from the two insurances. For example, if one insurance covers 80% and the other insurance covers 50%, you will end up getting 80% coverage after coordination of benefits. If one of the insurance has 100% coverage then you will end up paying only deductible.
How to know which insurance is primary?
Following are the criteria to decide which insurance is primary.
- With two jobs – the insurance you had for more longer time.
- If one of the insurance is medicaid – Husky, medicaid is always secondary.
